Most wedding videos look the same.

The drone shot of the venue. The slow motion of the dress. The kiss under dramatic music. Beautiful for fifteen seconds, forgotten in a year.

The films I make for Melbourne couples are different because I shoot for the moments between the moments. Your dad wiping his eyes during a speech. Your best friend laughing too hard at the wrong joke. The look you give each other right before the ceremony starts. Real audio, honest editing, and no music supervisor's idea of what your wedding should sound like.

Honest wedding films with a cinematic soul, shot for the moments between the moments and delivered within 5 weeks, not five months.

Your wedding, as it actually felt

Weddings move quickly. The morning runs into the ceremony, the ceremony into the speeches, the speeches into a dance floor that ends before you know it started. You won't remember all of it. That's the point of the film.

I shoot documentary through the day: quiet, unobtrusive, letting the wedding be the wedding. Then I edit cinematically, building pace and structure around your moments. Every film is cut from scratch. No template, no preset and no reusing last week's couple's rhythm on yours.

Where we shoot in Melbourne

We cover Melbourne, the country around it and the coast. These are the places we know best.

Melbourne CBD laneways
Hosier Lane, AC/DC Lane, Centre Place. Urban footage that looks like Melbourne and nowhere else. Best filmed early, or in the gap between ceremony and reception. A strong thirty seconds of any film.
Royal Botanic Gardens
The Tan, the lake, the Ornamental Lake bridge. Green all year and some of Melbourne's best natural light for portraits. Best late in the afternoon, when the trees throw long shadows across the lawns.
Yarra Valley
Stones of the Yarra Valley, Zonzo Estate, Yering Station, Rochford Wines. Each venue has its own light. I bring backup audio for outdoor ceremonies, because wind near the vines ruins more vows than rain does.
Mornington Peninsula
Polperro, Montalto, Lindenderry, Jackalope, Peninsula Picnic. The light shifts every fifteen minutes. For full days I like to know how the sun moves through your venue before the ceremony.
Dandenong Ranges
Forest Edge, Poet's Lane, Tatra Receptions, SkyHigh Mount Dandenong. Misty forest and moody light through the tree ferns, hard to expose for and beautiful when it works. A wet weather plan is non-negotiable here.
Geelong and the Bellarine
Oakdene Vineyards, Jack Rabbit, Curlewis Estate, Terindah Estate. Vineyards and the sea in the same frame. At Terindah the cliffs are the headline.
St Kilda and the bay
St Kilda Pier, the foreshore, Brighton Beach. Best at sunrise or just before sunset. The wind is louder than it looks, so vows always get a backup recorder here.
Macedon Ranges and the west
Hanging Rock, Lavandula, Campaspe Run, Werribee Mansion, Lancemore Mansion Hotel. Open fields, old stone and formal gardens that give a film room to breathe.

The sound

Lavalier microphones on both of you, a backup recorder at the altar and discreet microphones during the speeches. Clear audio, so your vows are still your vows in five years and not a low hum under the music.

You live the day. I make the film.

★★★★★

Jay and Sofia were absolutely fantastic. They were such a wonderful part of our celebration and made us feel so comfortable throughout the day. We absolutely love our photos. We didn’t realise we were such a handsome couple until we saw them.

Questions couples ask

How much does a wedding videographer cost in Melbourne?
Our videography collections start at $1,490 for three hours and run to $4,990 for twelve, which includes a second videographer and an extended documentary film. Every inclusion is on the videography packages page.
How far ahead should we book?
For Melbourne weddings between October and April I'm usually booked 9 to 12 months ahead. Winter and weekday dates often have shorter lead times, and if your date is close it's always worth asking.
What's the difference between a highlight film and a documentary film?
A highlight film is short, music-led and carefully paced. The documentary is long, keeps full ceremonies and speeches, and uses real audio throughout. I shoot documentary on the day and edit cinematically, so twelve-hour collections get both.
Is drone footage included?
Aerial footage is included in our ten and twelve hour collections when weather, the venue and airspace rules allow. Some inner-city venues don't permit drones, and I'll tell you upfront if yours is one of them.
When will we get our films?
Your films are delivered online within 5 weeks. Many studios take ten to twelve weeks.
Can you work alongside our photographer?
Yes, regularly. I'll connect with your photographer before the day to plan ceremony angles, portrait timing and how we move during the speeches, so neither of us ends up in the other's shots.
Do you travel?
Travel within 50 km of Melbourne CBD is included. Venues further out, including the Yarra Valley, Mornington Peninsula and Dandenong Ranges, are itemised in your quote. We also film in Adelaide and interstate.
What if it rains?
We build a wet weather plan with you a few weeks before the day. Most venues have an indoor option, and for outdoor ceremonies I bring weatherproof audio so an indoor pivot costs nothing in quality.
